Visit of the delegation of the Russian Committee of Solidarity and Cooperation with the peoples of Asia and Africa to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

On September 20-22, 2019, the RCSCAA delegation visited Hanoi (Socialist Republic of Vietnam) to mark the International Day of Peace. The delegation included the RCSCAA Secretary General Khalturina Natalia Vyacheslavovna, the RCSCAA Head of Administration — Leader of the RCSCAA Youth sector Bolgova Ekaterina Dmitrievna and members of the RCSCAA Youth sector.

The delegation members met with the leaders and representatives of The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), The Viet Nam Committee for Asian-African-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

The meeting participants exchanged information on their activities and shared their experience in strengthening solidarity and friendship ties. They also discussed the prospects of further cooperation within the Afro-Asian People’s Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) and cooperation at youth level.

Both parties stressed the need to raise awareness of Russian and Vietnamese society about the culture, history and realities of modern life of both countries, and noted the important role that the media plays in this process.

Vice-President of The Viet Nam Committee for Asian-African-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation Nguyen Van Huynh identified the need to maintain peace for sustainable development as one of the most important areas of cooperation for Vietnam. He noted that on the eve of the International Day of Peace this issue is of particular relevance.

Nguyen Van Huynh also expressed his hope that this visit would be the first step to strengthen ties between the Russian Committee of Solidarity and Cooperation with the peoples of Asia and Africa and The Viet Nam Committee for Asian-African-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation. He emphasized the importance of young people’s involvement in the Committees activities.

Both parties expressed their hope that Russian-Vietnamese relations will develop and stressed their readiness for active cooperation.
