The roundtable discussion “Cultural bridges between Russia and Azerbaijan as the basis for intercultural dialogue” was held in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Prominent politicians, public figures, scientists, experts from Russia and Azerbaijan, attended the event.
The central purpose of the event was to promote the development of public diplomacy, as well as the strengthening of multicultural dialogue.
Among the participants were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbul oglu, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergei Ivanoviсh Neverov, the Head of The Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) Eleonora Valentinovna Mitrofanova, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Issues of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Contacts with Fellow Countryman Leonid Ivanoviсh Kalashnikov.
Vice-President of the RCSCAA, assistant to the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Glebovich Baklanov emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation within the African-Asian solidarity structures.
Russia and Azerbaijan initiated the creation of the Soviet Committee of Solidarity with the Countries of Asia and Africa and Afro-Asian People’s Solidarity Organization.
Now, RCSCAA and AAPSO are rebuilding their international activities. Azerbaijan and Russia, as the founders of these structures, should consider their strategy.
