The Russian Committee of Solidarity and Cooperation with the peoples of Asia and Africa took part in the Russian-African Social Forum, organized upon the initiative of the Global Alumni Alliance Russian-University and Africa Business Initiative Union.
One of the main objectives of the Forum was to draw attention of public organizations, business community and state institutions to the large-scale and comprehensive restoration of relations between Russia and Africa.
The Forum sessions covered such topics as cultural, humanitarian, trade and economic dialogue, education, science, healthcare and agriculture issues, as well as development of business relations and strengthening historically established friendly ties between Russia and Africa.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Madagascar Eloi Maxime Dovo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cameroon in the Russian Federation Mahamat Paba Sale, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Azer Mutallim oghlu Talybov, Advisor to the President of RCSCAA, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Russian Diplomats, Ambassador Andrey Glebovich Baklanov and others gave their speeches at the first plenary session “Russia-Africa: cultural, humanitarian and trade-economic dialogue as a platform for building strategic cooperation in the modern global agenda”.
Various workshops and panel discussions were held as part of the Forum, where participants shared their opinions on topical issues concerning current state, development and future prospects of Russian-African relations.
